Yes indeed, I’m having one of THOSE days. My computer’s in the shop. Thank goodness for my husband’s computer, so I can keep working at least somewhat. Minus most of my files, most especially the ones I was currently working on, but able to work at least a little.
So I’m doing some stuff online with his machine, but other things I’m doing without a computer. After all, having an online business doesn’t have to mean you limit yourself.
No computer means it’s a great time to get organized. All those papers that need to get straightened or filed, the clutter on my desk… today’s a great day to handle those.
It’s also a good day to think about offline advertising. If you don’t have access to your computer, it’s a good time to think about any flyers or business cards you may have printed up. Run around and find places you can leave them, and try to drum up business that way.
Brainstorm on paper. You can write down ideas. For most, you’ll still want your computer back when it’s time to really develop them, as writing articles by hand rather than in a word processor can be rather tedious, but you can get some ideas flowing.
You can also take some time to refresh yourself. It’s easy to work too hard when you have a home business. Take a break away from it all once in a while.
Yes, working without a computer is extremely limiting when your entire business is online. But you can get some things done rather than give up until you get your computer back.
Just make sure you have backups so that you can get back to work as soon as possible.
