It’s coming up on that time again already! Time to pay those quarterly taxes if you’re earning enough to need to do it.

I went ahead and scheduled my payment today. You can use the EFTPS site to pay your quarterly taxes, and you can even schedule them in advance to avoid forgetting them. It’s a great feature.

One thing you have to remember, though, is that there needs to be time for them to take the payment. That’s why I always schedule it just a couple days before the due date. That makes it simpler and ensure that it is processed on time. All too often I’ve tried to make a payment and realized I forgot about the processing time.

I’ll admit, paying quarterly taxes is an inconvenience, but what an inconvenience to have! It’s a sign of success, too. Much as I hate paying so much in taxes, I have to keep reminding myself that things could be worse - I could be earning too little to need to pay.

Signing up for EFTPS takes some time, but it’s well worth it. No need to send in your form by mail, no stamps, and you can have them take it right out of your account. It’s wonderful to limit the inconvenience.
