I reviewed ReviewMe on one of my other blogs some time back. I’ve gotten very little business through them, being an insignificant blog, but the occasional assignment does bring in some nice money. I haven’t added this site there yet. Wouldn’t hurt to do so, I suppose, if they’ll have it. ReviewMe is very picky.

But they’ve made a change that makes them a bit more like PayPerPost and some other companies now. They now have a marketplace so that advertisers can put out opportunities for bloggers to accept at a price set by the advertiser, rather than by the blogger or ReviewMe.

There aren’t a lot of campaigns there yet, of course. It will take time to get advertisers interested in this.

They’ve also started an affiliate program. I’m not clear on when that started, since it wasn’t mentioned in the email promoting the new marketplace. However, the affiliate program pays for every advertiser you refer who purchases a review that gets completed. It doesn’t appear to pay for referring bloggers.

Paid blogging is an interesting model. And no, this one is not a paid post. But I’ve found that there is enough freedom to choose what you will and will not blog about as well as what you are willing to say about a company. Yes, some bloggers will say anything to get a review completed, but others like me are pickier and only post their real feelings about topics they are genuinely interested in sharing.
