Great post about how you will know if you won’t succeed in affiliate marketing over at ScreenGlare. Food for thought if you’re struggling.
I know I’ve made many of these mistakes myself. As I’ve said before in this blog, I’m only now learning to outsource. Believe me, that was a tough decision, but as ScreenGlare says, you can’t do it all if you really want to succeed. Freeing up my time to do the things I’m best at really helps. Best of all I don’t have to do the tedious stuff.
Learning to sell online has definitely been a challenge. In the real world I’m excellent at sales. I worked for six years in a jewelry store and was regularly one of the top 3 employees in the company, out of 9 stores with at least 5 employees per store. But selling online is different, and I’ve had to do a lot of work on those skills.
It took me a long time to really understand the need for multiple sites. I do have a favorite site, which is the one I work the hardest on, but now I have others, some of which I’m starting to adore working on just as much. It’s a good feeling. Figuring out how to market all of them can be a bit tricky, but quite doable.
Perhaps one of the biggest warning signs of impending failure as an affiliate is the inability to recognize your weaknesses, especially if they fall into one of the areas ScreenGlare mentioned. Overconfidence can keep you from correcting your mistakes for a very long time.
